]]> We’re headed out to kick some ass in Texas in just a few hours, and I thought I’d preface the shitstorm of awesome about to unfold with a return performance by one of the greatest Seattle bands too few people have heard of. Perhaps that’s their penance for helping spawn one of the worst musical genres since disco, but in all fairness Sunny Day Real Estate were emo before it was called emo. Before a clownishly bad fashion aesthetic came with it. Before it became appealing to the hormone herds to cry on your webcam. Anyway, the point is that they’re back – the entire original lineup – and they sound great.

Diary and LP2 have been remastered and reissued, and while the band is skirting any talk of new material so far, they’re playing live again. That’s a start.
