SXSW Live Shots: Alabama Shakes, Fiona Apple, Dirty Ghosts, Doomtree, Dead Sara & More
Antiquiet’s deep in the throes of the SXSW experience down in Austin, TX this week, and with some incredible performances already on the books from Alabama Shakes, Fiona Apple (check out our review & new songs), Dirty Ghosts, Dead Sara, P.O.S., Doomtree and more.
Alabama Shakes played the KCRW showcase on Wednesday to a packed convention-center house, ornately decorated in an intimate setting. The relaxed atmosphere was a perfect setup for Brittany Howard’s butter-smooth blues soul to run the spectrum of aching delicacy to rollicking Rock.
Take a click trip through our visuals from the past 36 hours at SXSW!
Fiona Apple
Kasabian turned out an impressive set of rockers after midnight at the 1100 warehouse, arriving like a more casual Oasis while their maniacally excited fans welcomed the chance to see the band on American shores in such an intimate atmosphere.
P.O.S. and Doomtree obliterated the Scoot Inn with a Hip-Hop frenzy of tremendous proportions that had the crowd fully locked in, shouting nearly every line back in unison, no matter how deep the cut.
Doomtree
Dirty Ghosts – well they just fucking rocked.
Dead Sara started our day doing much the same thing…

Hi there, I was hoping to gain permission to publish a couple of Johnny’s sxsw shots of Fiona Apple and Alabama Shakes in Rhythms magazine in Australia. It’s Australia’s premiere roots music magazine and goes out nationally to subscribers and newsagents. Happy to credit the photos and plug the website in return.
Cheers
