What makes a Wu-Tang Clan album? If you guessed one member overseeing a Brooklyn soul crew (The Revelations) recreating samples live in the studio, to which other members would drop in and rhyme, you’d be right. But by any other definition, Chamber Music is not a proper Wu-Tang album.

Long long before we started Antiquiet, our need to support artists in the recording industry was inspired and fueled to a white heat by several who had the nerve and the experience to speak up and pull the curtains back for us. Today we were reminded of a big example, which you’ve probably read: Steve Albini’s 1993 essay, “The Problem With Music.” Idolator pulled it back up in honor of The Baffler resuming publication. After 18 years and 6 studio albums, Incubus have amassed a deep archive of hits in their catalogue, and the first disc of Monuments And Melodies is a pretty solid celebration of the more recognizable jams – with a couple curve balls thrown in.
