In addition to releasing his solo album Blunderbuss on Tuesday, making a slew of TV appearances and concert stops (we’ll be there Monday!), Jack White will stream his upcoming Gary Oldman-directed Unstaged concert live on Vevo today at 6pm Pacific. Additionally, it was confirmed yesterday that White will score the upcoming Gore Verbinski film The Lone Ranger.

That’s a hell of a lot of Jack White, right? It sure is. But what the hell – let’s up the ante by giving away a Blunderbuss vinyl/CD combo!

We’re in the giving mood this week. That’s why we’re hooking you guys up with tickets to this weekend’s show at The Roxy in Los Angeles with Conspirator, Justin Paul and KJ Sawka!

Conspirator, the duo of Disco Biscuits’ staples Marc Brownstein and Aron Magner which often features guest musicians in the live setting, is currently on a national tour of “full band” performances featuring Chris Michetti and a rotating cast of first-class drummers. Drummers include KJ SAWKA (Pendulum), Adam Deitch, Darren Shearer, Mike Greenfield, and Lane Shaw.

As for KJ Sawka, seeing Kevin Sawka on the drums is the only way to believe the hype. He can play the most complex of jungle, drum’n'bass and breakbeats utilizing no loops and no extended samples -only his two hands and two feet. If you can catch him in the right moment –live, at a show, or in a studio session- you’ll witness him perform each and every 808 bass kick, snare slap, and compressed highhat tick himself, in real time.

Justin Paul‘s DJ sets are known for being musically eclectic, spiritual and somewhat unexpected. This is one of the many reasons he is booked to play at some of the nations most elite clubs, festivals, and shows opening for the likes of AIR, Bassnectar, Deadmau5, Disco Biscuits, LCD Soundsystem, Orbital, Prodigy, Thievery Corporation, Trentemøller, Zero 7 and more.

With all the reissues and Pink Floyd tributes happening on late night TV these days, we’ve gotten caught up in celebrating legendary band’s legacy – to your benefit. Antiquiet has teamed with the legendary Pink Floyd to give away the band’s entire massive catalogue, featuring all 14 original studio albums!

With a campaign aimed at unreleased music from the archives, a wave of collectors’ box sets and remastered studio recordings are being launched, the harbingers of the psychedelic sound accompaniments of our youth are looking to saturate the music-buying public once again. A comprehensive release schedule is planned, encompassing CDs, DVDs, Blu-ray discs, SACD, an array of digital formats, iPhone Apps and a brand-new single-album ‘Best Of’ collection.

The legendary band, who are still among the most successful and iconic musical acts of all time, recently signed an agreement with EMI which has allowed the development of a multi-format program of packages.

We’ll get to that in a sec – but in the meantime, if you’re down to win this awesome 14-CD package spanning Pink Floyd’s entire catalogue, all you need to do is follow @Antiquiet on Twitter, and shoot us a message with the hashtag #FreeFloyd. Can you handle that?!

The planned reissue releases, under the banner Why Pink Floyd?, are designed to appeal to a wide cross section of their fans. Super-deluxe box sets will cater to dedicated fans, allowing them to immerse themselves in multi-disc sets, containing alternate takes, unreleased tracks, restored live concert screen films and a live recording of the legendary The Dark Side Of The Moon performance at Wembley in 1974.

A series of different listening experiences have been specially created for this release: in addition to remastered CD’s called Discovery and the Immersion CD / DVD / Blu-ray / memorabilia box sets will be a series of Experience Editions – coupling one classic album with a further disc of related content from that album to offer a deeper listening experience.

Roger Faxon, CEO of EMI Group, said, “This is a unique collaboration between EMI and one of the most creative and influential bands in history. We have worked together for more than a year on this programme which incorporates all the elements that have made Pink Floyd one of the most inspiring forces in modern music. Why Pink Floyd? Because their music is without equal and these exciting new releases will allow music fans to rediscover their incredible legacy and demonstrate that an appreciation for artistic quality never goes out of fashion.”

With the spoil of vinyl riches that is Record Store Day just a week away, music fans are once again mapping out their battle plans and prioritizing which record shops to hit first to get that coveted limited-edition [insert participating band here] vinyl before they run out. Because lets face it – buying that shit on eBay isn’t nearly as fun.

We’re taking some of the legwork out of the hunt this week with a Queens Of The Stone Age contest, featuring a signed copy of the reissued self-titled first release from the band, as well as a Rekords Rekords 10″ record Mr. Joshua Homme & the boys are putting out (alongside Alain Johannes & Mini Mansions) in a limited Record Store Day run, among other badass items.

• T-Shirt (featuring the album art)
• Rekords Rekords 10” Vinyl
• Rekords Rekords coffee mug

Not a bad little prize, eh? To win, follow us on Twitter and shoot a 140 blast our way with the hashtag #FreeQOTSA. Simple as that. And if you don’t have a Twitter account, consider this your incentive, Grandma.

Rekords Rekords Record Tracklist:

Side A
Alain Johannes: Endless Eyes

We’ve loudly proclaimed our love for the latest Decemberists album The King Is Dead, and after giving you a free download of the band’s cover of R.E.M.’s Cuyahoga, we’re bringing the goodness to your record player with a vinyl giveaway.

The Portland band’s critically-acclaimed recent offering is, as frontman Colin Meloy puts it, “an exercise in restraint,” abandoning previous English traditions of influence in favor of an influence lineage more in line with Neil Young and The Byrds. The results are a fascinating departure from 2009′s high-concept masterpiece The Hazards of Love, opting for gentle acoustics and harmonicas over the sprawling, grand ambition of its predecessor. Check out our review here.

If you want to spin the black circle Decemberists style, just leave a comment below. We’ll pick a winner next week and notify him/her for shipping details.

Johnny sort of eviscerated Linkin Park in his review of their latest album, A Thousand Suns. A swarm of rabid fans blitzed the comments section to voice their feelings. Not all positive, not all polite.

However, we really do appreciate our readers’ passion and vitality, and we’d like to take an opportunity to prove it with the help of Linkin Park themselves. We’ve got a bunch of tickets to give away for their upcoming tour with Prodigy, Pendulum, and some hipster band actually called “Does It Offend You, Yeah?”

So if you read Antiquiet and love Linkin Park, we’ve got some ointment for your hurt butt.

If you live in Los Angeles, Detroit, Montreal or Phoenix, and want to see Linkin Park with Prodigy and Pendulum and that other band, leave a comment below and be sure to tell us which city you can get to. And use a valid email address. At some point in the near future, we’ll pick a winner for each city. If you get that email and respond with your name, you’re on the list.

Oh, and even if you don’t win, you can grab a free live EP right here. Actually, LP makes all of their shows available for download, and all tickets to these upcoming gigs come with a code to download the show afterwards. Which is pretty cool.

2011 Tour Dates (bold means we’ve got tickets):

01/25: Detroit, MI
01/26: Chicago, IL
01/29: Kansas City, MO
01/31: Philadelphia, PA

Here's your chance to see The Raveonettes, The Greenhornes, The Oblivians, The Gories and more, all in one place.

This year’s Scion Garage Fest kicks off on October 2nd, bringing the one-day extravaganza to four different local music venues in Lawrence, Kansas with a lineup featuring the likes of The Raveonettes, King Khan & the Shrines, Best Coast, Times New Viking, The Greenhornes and The Ponys, among others. Topping the bill are recently reunited garage bands The Oblivians and The Gories. Dream come true, right? Right?!

The best part? It’s all free. To attend, all you have to do is RSVP.

Because we care about you, we’ve arranged for a pair of tix to give away to the event. But it’s free, you say! Well, winning tix eliminates the need to wait on the RSVP waiting list, which fills up quick and doesn’t guarantee access. This also saves you the travel arrangements to pick up the tickets, which can be a pain in the ass on the day of the show.

If you’re interested and anywhere the hell near Kansas this Fall, leave us a comment below to enter. Simple as that – the winning entry will be selected next Monday, August 30th, and the winner will then have 72 hours to claim their tickets once notified. Tickets will be mailed to the address provided by the winner, but they don’t guarantee entry if you show up late! Make sure you’re in before capacity.

For more information about the festival, head to the Scion Garage Fest page.

[Fail-riffic Update: The event has been indefinitely postponed. Hold your submissions for now - we'll keep you posted on the updates.]

It’s that time again! Who’s up for some free tickets to the We The People festival, headed by Bad Religion and Suicidal Tendencies?

The fourth annual installment of the We the People Music and Arts Festival is landing in downtown Los Angeles next Saturday, November 21 at the LA Center Studios to celebrate youth involvement in social and political activism. The headliners are punk legends Bad Religion and Suicidal Tendencies, supported by rap superduo Madvillain (MF Doom and Madlib) and one of our favorite hip-hop crews ever, Crown City Rockers, as well as Blu & Exile, Pepper, The Glitch Mob and Flobots. Black Eyed Peas leader Will.i.am will be playing an exclusive DJ set as well.

According to the official We The People site, “The organization of the We The People festival was conceived due to a great need for a stimulant in social awareness and an encompassing platform within the urban community to inspire the involvement and active participation of the conscious urban youth populous throughout the country.”

The LA Center Studios sound stages will feature two outdoor stages, an art exhibit, vendor booths, guest speakers and more than 30 musical acts. The event will also include speeches by Congresswoman Maxine Waters, criminal defense attorney Christopher Darden and Hip-Hop Summit Action Network President Dr. Benjamin Chavis. The concert, which is all ages, runs from 2PM to 1AM, rain or shine. Tickets and information are at wethepeoplefestival.com, but we’ve got a free pair for you.

If you’d like to check out the festival on us, hit us up either here in the comments, on Twitter or Facebook by midnight on Tuesday, Nov. 17. No catch, no strings attached. Free music. Come get it.

The luck is running high and heavy here at Antiquiet, and we’ve had a great time sharing the love with you lately. But we’re rolling some serious rabbits-foot sevens now, and the biggest prize of all has arrived: I’ve just been chosen as the sixth and final winner of the Third Man Records Golden Ticket giveaway, which provides me and a guest with airfare, hotel accommodations and a personal tour of the Third Man Records headquarters in Nashville, Tennessee by a very special host.

In true Wonka fashion, according to the official Third Man site, “the winner’s eyes will be exposed to delights never-before imagined by those with eyes or imagination.”

Stuffed randomly into copies of the Dead Weather’s debut album Horehound were six Golden Tickets that rewarded the winner (and a guest) with a trip to Nashville for a private tour of the Third Man Records compound. I purchased a copy of Horehound on a recent trip to the temporary Los Angeles location of the Third Man Record Store, and that’s how I became the sixth winner.

Want to be my plus one?

The trip is scheduled for September 23 – 25. Due to school, work or government intervention, none of my friends or family who would properly appreciate the experience are able to go, so I’m passing the opportunity on to you. How’s that for a karmic power-up?

Of course, to simply put such a kick-ass prize up for grabs to a random grabby taker would be a terrible waste of a great opportunity to bring a little music into the world. So here’s the deal: If you want to be my plus one to Nashville for an exclusive firsthand tour (by a very special someone) of the Third Man Records compound later this month, if you’d like to visit Jack’s candycane mansion, melted vinyl river and flying elevator, there’s just one thing you have to do: Sing a song. Bonus points for video, but MP3 will do.

This is NOT a ‘For Musicians Only’ sort of contest. This is amateur hour open mic night. We’re looking for one-take action, and no hiding behind a Pro Tooled wall of sound.

Try to keep it in the Third Man spirit: lo-fi, high-passion, raw and from the heart. It doesn’t matter if you’ve never written a song. Don’t think of it as a song. Just sing something. Bang on some pots & pans. Find a way to get your soul into sound.

Send it (along with your full name and city) to submissions@antiquiet.com. The format and delivery method doesn’t matter. We’ll sort out your mess. Just do it fast! We have to let them know the guest’s info within the next few days.

There’s only one other catch: as of now, there is a slight chance that you’ll have to get to either Nashville or Los Angeles (where I’ll be flying out of) with your own funds. The specific details of guest arrangements haven’t been provided yet, but I’ve been in touch with Warner Bros. / Third Man about it, and will update this as more info develops. But to be safe for now, it would be best for applicants to have the means to get to either Los Angeles or Nashville on their own. Hotel and travel beyond that will be provided.

Good luck!

UPDATE: Skwerl here. Just got word from Johnny that he’ll have to select a winner tonight (Thursday, September 10th). So the official deadline for entries is now 8 PM Nashville (central) time / 6 PM pacific, tonight, September 10th. Also, your airfare to Nashville from ANY US CITY will be covered by Third Man!

Nine Inch Nails are playing one of their last shows ever at the Palladium in Hollywood tonight. Johnny and I have a pair of tickets, but I am unable to attend. So I’ve decided to give my ticket to one of you for free.

Here’s the catch:

Anyone can claim the ticket, but not for themselves. You have to give it to one of your friends.

In order to ensure that someone really awesome and deserving gets the ticket, someone out there appreciative of their contribution to the world has to step forward on their behalf.

All you’ve gotta do is send us an email (use the form!) and tell us briefly (or not briefly) who deserves the ticket and why. The show is tonight, so that means they’ll have to be able to be in Hollywood tonight to meet Johnny Firecloud for a wristband.
