News: The Joy Formidable
After giving the world two singles (Cholla and This Ladder is Ours) from their upcoming Wolf’s Law, the sophomore effort from The Joy Formidable is not scheduled for release until January 22nd, but now the album can be streamed in it’s pre-release entirety now via Rolling Stone.
After the breakout success of their debut album The Big Roar, which granted them access to a supporting role on tour with both the Foo Fighters and Muse, The Joy Formidable retreated to a small, remote town in Maine to record the follow-up album, with little connection to the outside world. In an interview with The Rock it Out! Blog, singer/guitarist Ritzy Bryan said of Wolf’s Law,
“I think it’s definitely an album that’s inspired by nature and I think that natural world and all the metaphors that it can evoke and the relationship between that and your own life and your own existence and your own mortality.”
Additionally, later in the interview, the band hinted that they might be making a few supporting appearances with Muse during their upcoming North American tour. That combination is definitely a show you don’t want to miss.
