News: Foo Fighters, Nirvana, Paul McCartney
Watch Paul McCartney & Surviving Members of Nirvana Play New Song ‘Cut Me Some Slack’
Earlier this Wednesday, much was said on the internet about a Nirvana reunion with Paul McCartney, where both acts were set to perform in some capacity at the 12/12/12 Concert, a benefit event to gather relief funds following hurricane Sandy. What actually occurred wasn’t a proper reunion, but something arguably exciting nonetheless.
Performing almost six hours into the benefit concert, former Nirvana members Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear joined Paul McCartney onstage to debut the brand new song Cut Me Some Slack – with the former Beatle playing some sort of mean cig slide guitar. Watch the performance below:
Moments after the song’s debut, a website was set up providing some detail on the Cut Me Some Slack : it was actually recorded for Grohl’s upcoming Sound City documentary and its accompanying soundtrack album, titled Sound City – Real to Reel. What’s odd is that we’d known about a boatload of artists set to appear on the film/album, but certainly not a Beatle. Then again, a closer inspection upon the film’s latest trailer does show some left-handed guy playing an instrument exactly McCartney’s, around the 2:14-mark:
Grohl’s Sound City movie is set to be available on February 1st, and can be pre-ordered here,.

Thank God for punctuation and spacing.
This was the most painful thing I’ve ever read. I feel like I’m on drugs.
Are you a spambot?
There goes my vote for hardest comment to read/understand for 2012. So what it is you were trying to say about the Red Hot Chili Peppers?
