Hear Green Day’s Newest Single, ‘Kill The DJ’
Over the past months, Green Day has been releasing tracks from their forthcoming album trio ¡Uno!, ¡Dos!, ¡Tré!. We’ve previously brought you the first single from ¡Uno!, a dance-pop tune entitled Oh Love as well a live recording of Let Yourself Go. Now, Green Day has released the second official single from ¡Uno!, entitled Kill The DJ, which you can check out below:
So far, both official singles from ¡Uno! seem like they would fit right in perfectly with Green Day’s garage-rock side project The Foxboro Hot Tubs, but do not fall under the same “pop-punk” feel that has been present in Green Day’s music since their breakthrough 1994 album Dookie. However, Let Yourself Go is a wonderful addition to Green Day’s catalog with a catchy little chorus as well as a (kind of) surprisingly intricate solo from Billie Joe Armstrong.
¡Uno! is set to be released September 25th in the US, ¡Dos! will arrive November 13th in the US, and the trilogy will be concluded on January 15th, 2013 with the release of ¡Tré! For some reason, Green Day fans in the UK will get the album released a day earlier than the US… that doesn’t seem fair does it?
Mondays are release days in the UK. They always get albums a day early.
