News:  Cover Songs

This Week’s Finest Impostors

By Antiquiet Staff

The cover song is a delicate art, where there is a fine line between homage and molestation. This past week (give or take) has provided us with two scoops of the former, which we have collected them here for your indulgence. First up is Faith No More’s confident and completely un-ironic headfirst dive into Niggas In Paris, in sharp contrast to Katy Perry’s cautious, ninja-centric headline grab.

Faith No More
Niggas In Paris (Jay-Z & Kanye West)

Mariachi El Bronx
Los Angeles I’m Yours (The Decemberists)

Dev Hynes & Florence Welch
Hitchin’ A Ride (Green Day)

Vendetta Red
Rusty Cage (Soundgarden)

Ellie Goulding & Tinie Tempah
Hanging On (Active Child)

And it wouldn’t be Antiquiet without one of the 300 Phish covers Reverend Justito contributed:

Phish
Boogie On Reggae Woman (Stevie Wonder)
Golden Age (TV On The Radio)
Also Sprach Zarathustra (Theme From 2001)

…The recording of The White Stripes covering The Stooges’ TV Eye at their first show ever still eludes us…

Meanwhile, On The Internet...
