News: Amy Winehouse, Nas
Listen to Nas & Amy Winehouse’s ‘Cherry Wine’ Duet
The legend behind Amy Winehouse’s song Me And Mr. Jones has long been tied to Nas. The two collaborated two years later for a track that eventually appeared on Winehouse’s posthumous Lioness: Hidden Treasures album, and now another collaboration has surfaced between the duo.
Cherry Wine is set to appear on Nas’ upcoming Life Is Good, and while the audio quality of this rip leaves some to be desired, the flow and upbeat nature of the tune is exciting enough to dismiss the static.
Nas steps back to allow Amy to dominates the song’s energy, keeping up with a racing flow that bounces through a romantic design before Winehouse charms up the chorus.
Listen to the 6-minute radio rip of Cherry Wine below. Life Is Good is in stores July 17.
“It’s a bittersweet feeling to do something with her now that she’s not here,” Nas said about the track. “I’m happy… the sweet part is that we do have the music, fans have new music from her. The bitter part is that she’s no longer here to really give it to us and to really live her music and for us to see her smile and hear her voice.”
