News: Metallica
Watch Metallica Perform ‘Ride The Lightning’ In Its Entirety For the First Time
Last night, at Orion Music + More festival in Atlantic City, Metallica headlined the first day of the event by performing their classic sophomore album, Ride The Lightning, in its entirety for the first time ever.
While Metallica had been on tour across Europe playing their self-titled Black Album in reverse tracklist order, the band’s first gig on American territory this year included the (arguably better) Ride The Lightning, also in reverse order. For those unaware, this meant that the group performed the live debut of album track Escape, preceded by a bit of joking on how they dislike the song. Watch the full performance below (Ride The Lightning starts around the 38:00-mark):
The setlist is as follows:
1. Hit the Lights
2. Master of Puppets
3. The Four Horsemen
4. Sad But True
5. Hell and Back
6. The Call of Ktulu
7. Creeping Death
8. Escape
9. Trapped Under Ice
10. Fade to Black
11. For Whom the Bell Tolls
12. Ride the Lightning
13. Fight Fire with Fire
14. Nothing Else Matters
15. Enter Sandman
Encore
16. Battery
17. One
18. Seek & Destroy
Today, Metallica are set to headline the second night of the Orion Music + More festival, performing the Black Album. Next month, the band will debut their “gigantic” new stage with 8 concerts in Mexico City. Meanwhile, an audio download of last night’s gig can be acquired here.

I was there. Great day before Metallica even started…then they killed it.
Awesome!
