Quicksand Reunites for Revelation Records

By Skwerl

So is this all of them? This year, both Refused and At The Drive-In have reunited to play shows, fueling more than a couple of jokes around the Antiquiet office about starting up betting pools for the rest of the dream reunions, with Quicksand topping a list with Failure and Handsome. We hear I Mother Earth has joined in as well. Ah, the 90s are back, and now they’re YouTube-able.

Here’s a video of Quicksand opening their surprise set at the closing night of the Revelation Records 25th Anniversary Shows in Pomona last night, with Omission, from their first studio album Slip. It’s one of very few truly classic debut albums.

We’re being told that this was a one-time-only reunion performance. But you know how these things go. That crowd surely was crazier than anything Quicksand ever experienced in their ‘heyday,’ so here’s hoping it seduces them onto some more stages, with a little more advance notice.

Now we just need Failure to get back together. Oh and Hum to play somewhere that is not Illinois or Texas.

This band should have been huge in the 90′s, never could figure out why they were largely ignored. Always one of my favorite debut albums, here’s to hoping a full fledged tour happens…

You can always tell an epic album when you hear one. I accidentally stumbled upon this album by accident, I think while rummaging through my beach house roommates cd’s (yes, CD’s).

Anyway, I still break Slip out every once in a while. Love the bass lines on this album.

Found the unreleased third Quicksand album last week. So glad I did.
