News:  Muse

Muse Go Dubstep on New Album ‘The 2nd Law’

By Fernando Scoczynski Filho

Both feet, meet shitty bandwagon we’ll all be laughing shamefully at in a decade. When Muse released the too-orchestral, too-overblown The Resistance in 2009, it was hard to see where the band could go from there. As the trailer for their new album The 2nd Law clearly shows, they’re going in two directions: first, more orchestra; second, dubstep. Watch the trailer below:

Even after the band’s constantly tongue-in-cheek, often misinterpreted humor, this looks too well-elaborated to be a joke. Although, if it does turn out to be that way, we’ll be glad to find out.

The 2nd Law‘s release is tentatively set for September 17th, according to a countdown on Muse’s official site, and to the trailer, which states “September 2012.” There’s also a gallery of new studio pictures, in which Skrillex is nowhere to be found.

This shit has to be a stunt. If not…. damn.

Why do i not feel THAT surprised…

  3. Elijah's Rain says:

Just when I thought Muse couldnt get any more self indulgent.

How could this not be a joke? Talking Atari robot heads accompanied by shitty 8-bit sound effects? Come on.

    I can hope, anyway…

This can’t be serious. I wouldn’t be surprised if they toopk a step like this because their act has become a total cliche. That last record was tam, repetitive, and their former selves could have sued them for copyright infringement on more than one of the songs.

I don’t know if any of you have watched Zeitgeist…but for a band like Muse to punk their style and idea’s for part of their bull shit revolution makes me sick.

I can only hope this is not real. They were a good band once.

I had heard on a local radio station that with a birth of a kid and the heart of Kate Hudson, Muse were working on an “adult contemporary” record. If this really does end up a Dub Step record, I think I’d rather Richard Marx jams versus this crap.

This better be a joke.. :(
