Watch Laura Jane Grace of Against Me’s First Interview as a Woman
After coming out as transgender last month, Against Me!‘s Laura Jane Grace (formerly Tom Gabel) is still receiving a lot of media attention since the announcement. Providing a lot more information on her change, the singer recently did her first video interview since the news broke.
Speaking to MTV, Laura Jane Grace got into detail about the emotional impact that being a transgender has taken on her life, and how she’s “completely blown away by the majority of people’s reactions,” saying that “they’ve been more than respectful and more than supportive, and it’s been, for me, completely humbling.” Watch the two-part interview below, along with two other parts where the members of Against Me! discuss the news:

I haven’t ever listened to their music, and from what I have heard, it is not my cup of tea. That said, I find myself being interested in how all of this turns out for the singer.
