Sigur Rós Release ‘Ég Anda’ Video
The flow of Sigur Rós news refuses to wane as anticipation builds for their forthcoming release Valtari, out May 29th on XL Recordings. After premiering a third track off the new record on The Vampire Diaries (that’s a show on The CW, for those of you older than 13) and then streaming the entirety of the release once for each time zone around the globe, the Icelandic band dropped a seriously odd video for sleepy album-opener Ég anda just this morning.

The video is the first of 12 to be released as part of a Valtari ”Mystery Film Experiment.” Each video will have a different director, with Ragnar Kjartansson taking the reins on Ég anda and delivering, well, a Heimlich maneuver instructional film with the song providing a creepy, dreamlike backdrop to what should be chaotic scenes.
All right, grab your pens. Time to learn how to assist a choking adult, pregnant woman, or infant:
Pre-order Valtari here, but if you can’t wait until next week, both NPR and The Guardian are streaming it now.
