Shepard Fairey Pays Tribute to MCA With Los Angeles Billboard Campaign

By Reverend Justito

Good news for residents of Los Angeles who are sick and tired of billboards for dreadful summer movies, washed up musical artists at Native American casinos and lap band procedures.

Known for his Andre the Giant “OBEY” campaign as well as the “Hope” poster of President Obama, American contemporary graphic designer Shepard Fairey has started to place a new form of billboard around town. The ads (which are currently at the intersections of Santa Monica & Fairfax and Sunset & Las Palmas) pay tribute to the late Beastie Boys member MCA. According to various websites, the billboards will only be up for a few weeks so if you are in these neighborhoods it is in your best interest to Instagram it while you can.
