News:  At The Drive-In

Watch Videos From At The Drive-In’s Reunion Gig

By Fernando Scoczynski Filho

At The Drive-In‘s reunion might be for cash and nostalgia, but it’s nonetheless gathering a lot of attention. Last night, the band performed their first gig in eleven years,  in Austin, TX – of course, some footage of it has already found its way onto YouTube.

As Consequence of Sound points out, the band’s first out of three shows in their home state featured a 15-song set, mostly focused on their last two albums (In/Casino/Out and Relationship of Command)  and last EP (Vaya).  From what’s been shown so far, it seems like the band chemistry is functioning well enough, and Cedric Bixler-Zavala can still hit the high notes. Videos of the show can be found below:

  1. Shame no one in Texas has a decent camera to record with. I want to watch these, but they sound like poop :(

  2. Jeff says:

This is just proof why Cedric and Omar formed the Mars Volta, I like the way Cedric sings in Volta better because he is actually singing and not screaming. Plus the Volta is just more complex music while this is typical punk/rock. Just my opinion though.

  3. Russell says:

Omar looks a li’l bored no?

  4. Mange says:

True TMV is much more complex, but for those of use rocking back in the 90′s ATDI was so far beyond any other punk rock. They just flat out kick ass!!
