News: Jack White
Watch Jack White Perform ‘Freedom At 21′ on German TV
We’ve told you enough about how good Jack White‘s solo debut Blunderbuss is – and, more specifically, how Freedom At 21 is its finest track. Although the album is already streaming, we now have proper video evidence of how fantastic the song sounds in a live setting.
This Thursday, Mr. White recorded a TV appearance on German talk show De Harald Schmidt Show (which Jack already visited in the past). First, he performed a sped-up version of Sixteen Saltines with his female backing band; later, he donned a blue Telecaster for a a blistering performance of Freedom At 21, and accompanied by the male backing band. Watch both songs below:
Blunderbuss drops next Monday, April 23 – pick it up here. His tour has a couple of dates left in Europe, before he returns for another US/Canada leg.

Jack can do no wrong.
Loved the performance of sixteen saltines @ 17:15…quite the female lineup he has backing him on that one. Anyone know who the female drummer is? She has a striking resemblance to Tessie Brunet of Deadboy and the Elephantmen.
That’s Carla Azar from Autolux. She’s got the sauce.
Nothing else pops a tent in my shorts like a chick smacking an upright bass.
Is the violin really necessary? I don’t even hear it.
Jack White is pretty good mmmmkay.
