News: How To Destroy Angels
Atticus Ross, mostly known for his frequent collaborations with Nine Inch Nails mastermind Trent Reznor (having won an Oscar with him, and being a member in his “other” band How To Destroy Angels), is now at the helm of a new project. Having last scored David Fincher’s The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo with Reznor, Mr. Ross is set to provide the soundtrack for the movie Ronin 47.
According to Film Music Reporter (via Omelete), Mr. Ross will take on scoring duties for the upcoming 3D samurai film, staring Keanu Reeves, and directed by Carl Eric Rinsch. Since Atticus is moving on to a new project, we can only guess that his previous project must’ve reached completion, finally. The last time we heard any updates on the first How To Destroy Angels album was in February, when the mixing was “almost done.” It’s odd to keep hearing about new projects before the in-the-works ones are released, but the more the merrier.
47 Ronin is set to premiere on November 21. For those keeping track, the last movie Atticus Ross scored by himself was the average-at-best post-apocalyptic The Book Of Eli - which sounded good, at least.
