News: Jack White
Jack White Debuts ‘Sixteen Saltines’ (And A New Band) On SNL
After surprising fans with the announcement of his first solo album Blunderbuss, Jack White took to Saturday Night Live to make his first-ever solo appearance in support of the record. In addition to the usual performance of a lead single, White also debuted a brand new song from the record.
As last night’s show drew an extra amount of attention, due to host Lindsay Lohan’s “comeback” to the airwaves, any viewers not scared away by its grossly unfunny comedy were treated to two excellent performances by Jack White. First, White was accompanied by an all-female backing band, playing the mostly-acoustic single Love Interruption, exactly like its video. Watch it below:
However, a big surprise came with White’s second song, as he appeared onstage with an electric guitar, backed by an entirely different, all-male band. He debuted the track Sixteen Saltines, which sounds a hell of a lot more like what we’d expect from the White Stripes/Raconteurs frontman. Watch it below:
As Mr. White is set to begin his US tour on March 10, we wonder whether or not the two bands will be an actual part of the set, with one half of the show being acoustic, and the other half electric.
Blunderbuss drops on April 24, and it can be pre-ordered here.

Did you notice that Ikey Owens of The Mars Volta was playing keys for Jack on “Sixteen Saltines”!!!
Jack’s keyboardist for the second song was Ikey Owens (formerly of Mars Volta). He mixed our first record and we’re very excited for him! He will be touring with Jack so it’s likely that both of last night’s bands will be on the tour.
Jack was perfect as usual and so are Lindsay’s boobies! Just sayin’.
Naaice.
Love interruption translates a lot better live for me. Not sure why – Maybe it has something to do with that drummer playing the shit out of a traditional grip.
