Watch Puscifer’s ‘Telling Ghosts’ on Kimmel

By Morad Moazami

Maynard James Keenan’s ever-evolving and eclectic musical troupe Puscifer stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live on Thursday night to kick off their 2012 North American tour. The band performed two tracks off the very excellent Conditions of My Parole, faithfully replicating the ambiance and setting of the very unique live production.

During the performances of both Telling Ghosts and Toma, frontman and frontwoman stood behind estranging, frame-shaped monitors, while the rest of the band were given a tremendous opportunity to shine on national television. You can view both performances below:

Keenan also made a rare public appearance at the Arizona Centennial Celebration in Phoenix a few days ago, delivering a truly magnificent speech to a small crowd of 50 people. The often-reserved singer briefly opened up about his youth before revealing the dream that drove him to the state of Arizona in the late ‘90s. The speech gives a fascinating insight into the life and mind of the mythicized Tool frontman, and is very well worth your time – especially if you’re a fan of turning your computer sideways.

Puscifer’s tour in support of Conditions of My Parole begins on Feburary 23rd in Austin, TX and will run on until March 18th. You can see a full listing of the tour dates below:

I’m not a huge fan or Tool and really didn’t like Perfect Circle but that sounded pretty good. The fact that its live is amazing as I think I might have been fooled into thinking it was a studio recording without the vid.
Pulcifer is now on my to do list.

I was losing faith in MJK the last few years. It seemed as though he was getting more arrogant, the Tool tours were a cash grab, Puscifer was (and is) terrible, and his Tool passion was decreasing; however……….

The speech was a breath of fresh air. MJK has charisma, personality, and presence. He is articulate and a refreshing voice.
