News: Metallica
Listen To Unreleased Metallica Song ‘Hate Train’
We’re not quite ready to forget the failure that Lulu was just yet, but it seems that Metallica are already taking the first few steps in helping their fans overcome the disappointment. After announcing performances of their Black Album in its entirety for next year, the band just started a series of four intimate concerts at the Fillmore, in San Francisco, in order to celebrate their 30th anniversary as a band. The lucky few fan-club members present were treated to a rarities-filled setlist, guest appearances by members of Diamond Head and Apocalyptica (and former Metallica bassist Jason Newsted), as well as a brand new song: Hate Train.
As Blabbermouth reports, Hate Train was originally intended for Metallica’s last non-Lulu studio album, 2008′s Death Magnetic, but ultimately didn’t make the cut. After the band performed a world premiere of the song last night in San Francisco, a free download of its studio version was sent out to fan-club members. Hate Train can be found below:
The main riff might be a dead ringer for the band’s own Fuel, but it’s still a solid track – certainly in comparison to anything from Lulu.
Metallica have three more scheduled dates at the Fillmore this week, and we’ll be sure to report if any more new songs pop up.

Metallica were definitely of their time. Seeing them on stage with what they call ‘the big three’ was like seeing lemonparty all over again.
This wasn’t too bad. Better use of the riff than in Fuel. Too bad the lyrics go full retard.
4 Filmore shows, and there’s 4 b-sides to DM.
This should be a good next couple days.
just a bullet away the next bside song is even better, metallica still rule
