Listen To New XX Demo ‘Open Eyes’
London-based The XX certainly had a booming year in 2009; their captivating self-titled debut took the world by storm and still remains a soundtrack to many late-night get-togethers and amorous outings. Much like the spell that had afflicted Bon Iver before the release of his sophomore record, The xx must now follow up a near-perfect album with something worthy. Justin Vernon of Bon Iver did that with ease earlier this year, presenting an album with a wholly new sound and structure to trump all previous standards and expectations.
Judging by a demo released by The XX earlier today, the breakout band seem to have a different approach in mind: To remain dedicated to the mesmerizing sound that originally garnered them such praise and adoration.
Following the enjoyable string of holiday delights released over the past few days, The xx unveiled a demo of a new song titled Open Eyes on their website today, and as you can hear from the uncomplicated track below, the results are, so far, pleasant.

The band is currently at work on their sophomore record, which will most likely be released sometime in 2012.
So, so boring.
Which is a shame cause its actually a well written pop song.
