News:  Deftones

Deftones And Crosses Preparing New Music

By Fernando Scoczynski Filho

Chino Moreno seems to be keeping himself busy these days. A few months ago, his main act Deftones finished their successful two-year tour in support of their incredible comeback-LP Diamond Eyes. And just a few weeks before the closing of that tour, Chino’s side-project with Far guitarist Shaun Lopez, entitled Crosses (or †††), released their debut EP for free. Now, both bands are gearing up for more new material.

Firstly, Deftones seem to be well into the recording of the follow-up to 2010′s Diamond Eyes. The band recently posted three pictures from the studio, with one appropriately titled “Back at the office.” If recording for their seventh album is already underway, it would be reasonable to expect it in 2012.

Meanwhile, Crosses are teasing the release of their second EP, appropriately called EP ††. The following teaser trailer was recently posted to YouTube:

We certainly look forward to hearing any new music that comes from both Deftones and Crosses. While the former has no tour dates scheduled at the moment, the latter will make a live debut at the Glass House in Pomona, CA, on January 31st, followed by three more CA dates.

Meanwhile, On The Internet...

It’s never reasonable to expect a Deftones album to be released at a certain time…unless you’re single handedly responsible for preventing Chino from putting on his perfectionist hat

If you’re a true fan of Stratovarius, then you would shut the fuck up about them getting bad after Timo lenaivg or them being better off without timo, and like the band all the same..
