RHCP Announce 2012 North American Tour

By Johnny Firecloud

Red Hot Chili Peppers released their tremendous new album I’m With You at the end of this summer (read our review), and now they’re about to embark on their first full-fledged tour in nearly five years to support it.

Starting in early 2012,  the first leg of the SoCal funk rockers’ North American tour will take them through the Carolinas and on into Georgia and Tennessee, a run of six stops total so far. Additional dates (a whole lot of them, if history is any indicator) are expected to be announced soon. Tickets go on sale on Dec. 3.

RHCP will also be offering up a select number of live performances for download, at their newly launched website LiveChiliPeppers.com. Currently nine dates from Europe are posted for purchase. Each show is recorded, mixed and mastered in full, available in a variety of formats.

The band’s latest album debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart with a boost from the hit single, “The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie.” The Chili Peppers recently released a second single from the album, “Monarchy of Roses.”
