News: Mark Lanegan
Mark Lanegan Plans ‘Blues Funeral’
Seven years after Mark Lanegan‘s last proper solo release, Bubblegum, the former Screaming Trees/Queens of the Stone Age singer is finally announcing his seventh album: Blues Funeral.
The record is being released under the “Mark Lanegan Band” that was adopted on Bubblegum, perhaps due to its significant number of contributors – a few of which are returning now, namely his former bandmates Josh Homme from QOTSA and Greg Dulli from The Gutter Twins. The music of the album was performed by Alain Johannes and former Pearl Jam/Eleven drummer Jack Irons.
As of yet, no tracklisting was announced, but we remind you that a couple of new songs have already been unveiled: Deep Black Vanishing Train and Jacob’s Ladder. Some extremely dark, but good-sounding live footage of both can be found below, respectively:
Regardless of whether or not those two tracks will actually be on Blues Funeral, the LP is scheduled for release on February 6th. To coincide with its release, an European tour has been scheduled. The dates are as follows:
