News: Björk
Watch Björk’s ‘Thunderbolt’ Video
Having released her 8th studio album Biophilia last month, Björk just provided a video showcasing the elaborate live concert that she and director Michel Gondry created for the record.
The video, which shows a live performance of the song Thunderbolt, was directed by Thirtytwo, and premiered exclusively on Spotify and Boing Boing. The footage first came via an announcement on Björk’s Facebook page, but it was later deleted, for reasons unknown. However, Boing Boing retains her message on how to properly enjoy the video: “Am playing live shows in reykjavik at the moment. Here comes a recording of thunderbolt live. Please please, do me a favour and use headphones or proper speakers when you listen.” Watch the video here.
Yup, that’s a Tesla Coil being used as a musical instrument. It’s reasonable to expect that the posting of this live video means that the Biophilia concert will finally get some dates in the US.
Björk still has one concert left on her Iceland residency, and you can pick up Biophilia here.
