News:  Puscifer

Video For Puscifer’s ‘Conditions Of My Parole’ Arrives

By Morad Moazami

While Tool may be on the backburner for now, a newly reinvigorated Maynard James Keenan is moving full-throttle with his side-project Puscifer. Having released arguably their best record to date only a few weeks ago, Puscifer is now a few days shy of their month-long North American tour in support of Conditions Of My Parole. Before Maynard takes his immensely talented live band on the road, Puscifer will be stopping by the Late Show with David Letterman this Halloween to perform the title-track from the outstanding album.

To fully prepare fans for what’s in store for them in just a few days, Keenan recently unveiled the music video for Conditions Of My Parole, a highly entertaining bit featuring cameos by MJK-alter egos Major Douche and hillbilly “punk-rock” convict Billy Dee. Watch the video below:

If 3 minutes of batshit-crazy hillbillies jamming out in their trailer isn’t enough, an extended director’s cut of the video will be released through ArtistDirect.com on Monday.

  1. Dan says:

Saying “the best Puscifer record to date” is kind of like saying the same thing about the last Hoobastank album: it’s still Hoobastank.

  2. Skwerl says:

i care less about maynard with each album he releases.

  3. Houston says:

Dan, “Conditions” is not even remotely close to “V is for Vagina” … Your generalizations are puzzling to me. But then again, you seem to know what Hoobastank is up to these days, so carry on … I guess.

Please don’t mistake me for a Maynard crazy either. I just know progression when I see it and you’re right; I have failed to take the course on Hoobastank 101…

  4. I actually prefer Puscifer to Tool or A Perfect Circle. Maynard’s work on Puscifer is so loose and accessible that it can be listened to any time, while Tool definitely needs the proper time and setting to be played.

Each band is a completely different monster of its own. Listen to Puscifer with an open mind and you are sure to enjoy it.

No pussy fur for me. I like to remember my Tool the way they were in the Undertow days – heard, but not seen.

  6. Houston says:

Well, Rob, I hate to break it to you, but this isn’t Tool. Just throwing that out there. I guess the obvious isn’t so obvious…
