Listen To Jack White’s Hank Williams Tribute

By José Pepe

The Lost Notebooks of Hank Williams is a one of kind tribute album. The country legend, when dying at 29 years old, back in 1953, left behind a series of notebooks with song sketches. Some of his fans, namely Bob Dylan, Levon Helm, Sheryl Crow, Norah Jones and Jack White, among others, took each one of these unheard songs and worked them out, giving them their own flavor, while keeping Hank Williams’ sound as much as possible.

You Know That I Know is title of Jack White’s contribution to the album, which you can listen to below, thanks to Rolling Stone:

The track is a beautiful, straightforward country song, kept true to Williams palette of arrangement and instrumentation, while White’s characteristic voice is the only evidence of his humble participation.

The Lost Notebooks of Hank Williams is being released today by Columbia, and you can pick it up from here.
