News:  Radiohead

Watch Radiohead Play New Song ‘Staircase’ & More on SNL

By Johnny Firecloud

Radiohead hopped across the ocean to play the season premiere of Saturday Night Live, and whipped out a new song in the process.

The band’s first performance was a mutated, raw and gorgeous rendition of Lotus Flower that pushed frontman Thom Yorke’s falsetto limits while exploring new improvisational avenues towards the end.

Guest drummer Clive Deamer provided a second man on drums for both of the band’s appearances, the second being gorgeous post-King of Limbs track Staircase.

Thanks to the good TwentyFourBit for the visuals!

  1. When the Wall Street protests are over, I vote the masses go protest outside of Johnny and Ed’s homes till they agree to bring guitar riffs back. Oh and I want whatever drugs Tilda is on for my next Phish show – that chick has some sweet moves.

    • I just laughed out loud.. hahaha.

I’m sorry but Lotus Flower is blip-bloopy shit, and hearing Yorke moan over the top does nothing to help.

Staircase is much better, but still not Radiohead at their best.

Blippy-Bloppy shit is not necessarily bad.
But you guys say it as it is.

    IT IS NOT

Sometimes is just about sound, and it sounds great

This is what happens when a band starts to believe their own hype and gets bored with making simple music. Too many toys and not enough raw power in their music. Bring back some guitars boys! We won’t think any less of you!
