Not So Fast On That ‘Blackroc 2′ Excitement

The innertubes have been abuzz with anticipation over the past couple weeks, with what was assumed to have been a new trailer for the second Black Keys and Damon Dash-curated genre-smashing Blakroc record. Everyone may have gotten ahead of themselves, as we hear from the horse’s mouth this morning that there’s no such album on the horizon.

Black Keys’ Patrick Carney revealed in a recent interview with Atlanta’s 92.9 that the recent trailer was actually made about two years ago and has been circulating without permission. While he does reveal that roughly eight songs are finished beyond the first album, they were recorded at least two years ago.
