Gallery: Red Hot Chili Peppers Rock The Silverlake Conservatory Of Music Benefit
The Red Hot Chili Peppers performed a set heavy with material from their fantastic upcoming I’m With You album at Los Angeles’ Club Nokia on Wednesday night (with openers Thelonious Monster), a benefit concert for the Silverlake Conservatory of Music. Antiquiet’s own Reverend Justito was in the house, providing us with some excellent visuals from the performance.
The Conservatory is a non-profit musical education organization founded by RHCP bassist Flea and Keith Barry that teaches kids the fundamentals of music and provides instruments. Chilis frontman Anthony Kiedis is also a member of the board of directors.
This remarkable nonprofit institution offers music lessons to youths in the region and scholarships for those who couldn’t otherwise afford to pay for it. Proceeds from the show will go towards Silverlake’s operating costs and to support its scholarship program.

Really love the sound Josh Klinghoffer gives to the Peppers. They need those shifts from time to time. I’m one of the few people on earth who loves One Hot Minute, for that reason.
One Hot Minute is greatly under appreciated. It’s a fantastic album.
Give it up….no one care anymore….it’s over. Lookin’ pathetic.
The fuck you talkin’ bout, kid?
I had no clue Faggitron had died. Tragic
You guys liked it enough to describe it as fantastic? I thought it sounded a little too slow & empty…something was missing. I didn’t hate it, but have only been able to hear it once via web stream. It kind of reminds of all the parts of Stadium Arcadium that I didn’t like. I look forward to the review
Within the next 48 hours.
Cool jam. The crowd was pretty damn weak
Wow they actually played a handful of pre-By The Way songs? That’s more than I can say I got from the Stadium Arcadium tour. They never rock their old shit anymore.
Cool photos. Especially of Flea.
I could be wrong since I wasn’t there, but I think the opener should be Thelonious Monster. Didn’t want to be a dick in open comments. Love your website.

Oh dear, typo. You are correct, the legendary Mr. Monk was not in the house.
Anastacia (the singer) was at the gig! She uploaded a photo on her Twitter http://twitter.com/anastaciafanily
The new album is really really weak. Uninspired. Anthony sounds bored on it. A great band, but I think they are done to be honest. RIP RHCP.
I had a chance to listen to this at my friend’s store over the weekend. It’s growing on me. Still a little hollow in my ears, but I’ll take it.
