Jane’s Addiction Drops Video For ‘Irresistible Force’

By Johnny Firecloud

As our hopes continue to plummet for the new Jane’s Addiction album with the slow release of these new sounds, we at least have some interesting visuals to go down with the slow-coming certainty that this isn’t going to be the rockin’ album we were hoping for.

Check out the video for Irresistable Force, which sounds like what Sting might do with the band if he had creative control:

Jane’s Addiction’s new album The Great Escape Artist is due out October 4. Keep up with details and preorder over at JanesAddiction.com

Sting? LOL. Seriously tho, this new stuff so far is fantastic. End to the lies had that defiant revolutionary feel to it and this shows the more delicate side to Janes. It’s musical technicolour and the vids both follow well.

Janes doing mainstream music but still making it work. More than can be said with the new Chili Peppers stuff which is just dire and I’m a huge fan of both bands.

    Ain’t taste a bitch.

Not sure if he had much to do with this song… but I’m hearing a little of Dave Sitek’s influence in this song.

Wow! That wasn’t what I expected at all. NOT AT ALL! So much more epic and expansive than I expected. This song has a real undercurrent of emotion and drama. I don’t have any real nostalgia with Jane’s, so I’m coming at this unhindered and I actually love this song. I’m not getting the Sting reference though – that guy lost all testosterone he had 20 years ago and makes easy listening music. This sounds more like it was produced by Queensryche to me.

Anyway, I am now much more curious as to other music from the new Jane’s album as this one has satisfactorially peaked interest.
