News:  The Hold Steady

Watch The Hold Steady Cover Huey Lewis & The News

By Johnny Firecloud

Oh hell yes. The Hold Steady have jumped into Huey Lewis & The News’ goofball Back to The Future jam Power of Love head-first, delivering their take on the track for A.V.’s Undercover series.

Wait. That fucking sucked. If you’re gonna cover Huey Goddamn Lewis, you better be ready to wail, McFly.

My childhood is offended.

Did they even listen to it once before they played it? I’ve farted better melody.

They didnt own it…what can you do. They sound like a bad wedding band!

I stopped listening after the singer got to the first line. I guess the AV Club is looking for artists to ruin a list of 25 songs rather than play them. Fucking idiots.

Well I can see why these losers bad-mouthed Huey Lewis and think he’s sooo darn uncool … it’s because they understand or use any of the good things Huey Lewis offered in their version. This dickbag singer absorbed as much of the soul and energy of Huey Lewis and he did from all that fucking awesome “punk rock” he was listening to back in the day. I think my accountant Dad would make a better front man.
