News:  Alice In Chains

Watch Alice In Chains’ Live Debut Of ‘Right Turn’

By Fernando Scoczynski Filho

After nearly 10 months of absence from the stage, Alice In Chains played a semi-acoustic show in Thackerville, OK, last Saturday. What made this particular gig special was the live debut of a song from the little-known Sap EP, released in 1992: Right Turn.

The track originally featured Chris Cornell and Mark Arm (from Mudhoney) as guest vocalists, but, as captured in the video below, AIC lead singer William Duvall did a fantastic job in hitting Mr. Cornell’s high notes:

We wonder why the hell they waited so long to play that live. As a bonus, here’s a video of another song from Sap, which opened the same gig – Brother:

Alice In Chains currently have one show scheduled for August 20 in Canada, and they’re expected to (finally) return to South America come November. They’re reportedly spending their offstage time recording a new studio album.

That was excellent. I fucking love Alice In Chains…they made the right choice to persevere with William Duvall.

Gonna throw on Jar of Flies now…

  2. Debated going to this but ended up not cause I couldn’t find anyone to join me… sucks, this looks (and sounds) fantastic.

  3. It be cool to see these cats do a two set tour – one acoustic/one electric.

    Survivors!

BGWTB is my favorite Alice album. William is a great addition, and I’m glad they decided to go on. William singing Rain When I Die live is fucking epic.

Such respect and admiration for this band. The more they hang around the more legendary they become. With Mike Starr and Layne they were incredible, and in later years Mike Inez, but this is just a morphing into something very special.
