News: Coheed And Cambria
Coheed & Cambria’s Michael Todd Arrested For Armed Robbery
Whenever we quote TMZ as a source on this site, it’s usually drug-related bad news – and the current case is no exception. Coheed and Cambria bassist Mic Todd was recently arrested for armed robbery at a Walgreens in Attleboro, MA.
As TMZ reports, the bass player threatened the local pharmacist by showing a cell phone note claiming he had a bomb. He demanded Oxycotin and succeeded in fleeing with 6 bottles of pain pills, by taking a taxi. However, Todd was tracked and recognized by the police moments later. Upon arrest, he was identified as being the same man shown in the store’s surveillance camera video.
As if that wasn’t embarrassing enough, it was later revealed that the taxi took by Mic Todd took was headed to the Comcast Center – aka, the venue where Coheed and Cambria were set to open for Soundgarden, that same fucking night.
The bass player was charged with armed robbery and unlawful possession of prescription narcotics. As of the time of this writing, he is being held on $10,000 bail. Back in 2006, it was reported that he was struggling with a heroin addiction, having to temporarily leave the group and check into rehab, later rejoining the band in 2007. It’s pretty obvious that tonight’s opening slot for Soundgarden was canceled.
Coheed and Cambria released the following statement via their official site:
“Michael Todd was arrested today on what we consider very serious charges and therefore he will not be finishing up the current tour. Wes Styles, long time member of the Coheed family will take on bass duties starting tomorrow for the remaining dates. No shows will be canceled.
We are surprised to say the least and will address the situation with Michael after the tour. For now, we just want to have a great time out here and finish with some killer shows in Boston, Poughkeepsie, Quebec City and Halifax.”

Damn
man that sucks, He’s such a good bass player
for fax ache, what’s with the junkie bass players?!? cool from C+C to not put up with this kind of behavior…
Greatest. Fucking. Story. Ever.
What a dick! :)
Rush lite. Who cares, they suck. Why would Soundgarden even have them on tour anyhow.
I don’t really find him to be that integral to the sound, so whatever. I’m sure the new guy will play his parts just fine for the rest of the tour.
