Red Hot Chili Peppers Announce ‘I’m With You,’ Release Date
Things have been awfully quiet in the Red Hot Chili Peppers camp for a while now. After the departure of longtime guitarist John Frusciante back in December 2009 (to be replaced by Josh Klinghoffer), there’s been nothing but a few hints regarding the recording of a new studio album.
That changed today, as bassist Flea took it to Twitter to announce that the band’s new record is finally coming on August 30, entitled I’m With You.
“It gives me profound pleasure deep in the fiber of my being to announce the august 30 release date of the new red hot chili peppers’s record,” Flea tweeted Sunday evening. Coming 5 years after their last album, Stadium Arcadium, I’m With You is set to be the first without Frusciante since 1995′s One Hot Minute (which featured Dave Navarro on the guitar).
We look forward to seeing just how Mr. Klinghoffer will fit into the group, and whether or not it will mark a new direction for them. Currently, the band has a few shows scheduled for Asia and South America starting August, but that’s likely to change fast, given the release of a new album.

I want to be excites about something new from RHCP, but I swear if I hear another song about California then I’m just going to have to pass!
Elijah, that’s the ongoing joke around here as well. good to know other fans find it ridiculous as well.
i was actually prepared to hear the new rhcp record was going to be called “The Golden State” with the lead single “CaliforniaCaliforniaCalifornia”
Haha…yeah California can’t be the only thing going on that they can sing about.
I think it is safe to say that I have finally lost interest in this band.
It was supposed to be called “Dr Johnny Skinz’s Disproportionately Rambunctious Polar Express Machine-head”, but then it turned out to be “I’m With You”. My hopes of the Peppers changing back to rock are buried deep.
