New From Fiona Apple: ‘Everyday’

By Johnny Firecloud

Not long ago we told you about the star-studded tribute album Rave On Buddy Holly, a project we’ve been looking forward to. A handful of tracks have slipped out to the masses so far, and we’ve got a new one to add to the list.

We’ve heard the Black Keys covering Holly’s classic Dearest, Modest Mouse’s take on That’ll Be The Day and Florence & The Machine’s rendition of Not Fade Away, among others. Now we’ve got the chance to hear Fiona Apple and producer/songwriter Jon Brion’s version of Holly’s 1957 gem Everyday. Check out the quiet, faithful cover below:

What the hell – treat your ears to a few more tracks, including Paul McCartney covering It’s So Easy, My Morning Jacket doing True Love Ways, Julian Casablancas’ Rave On and more:

Rave On Buddy Holly will be available on June 28. Preorder now.
