The full-length follow-up to Death Cab For Cutie’s smash success of Narrow Stairs was recorded at various studios over the course of several months in 2010, a formula departure of sorts for the band that features a greater presence of guitarist/producer Chris Walla’s compositions. Frontman Ben Gibbard likened Codes and Keys to Brian Eno’s Another Green World.
DCFC sold us for good with Narrow Stairs, and we’ll have to let this one settle in before making a final decision – but we like what we’re hearing. Check out Codes and Keys for yourself below, from the home of the glorious bastards that call themselves NPR.org.
