News: Jane's Addiction
Full Show: Watch Jane’s Addiction Play New Songs Live
The never-ending erotic-bohemia circus that is Jane’s Addiction took care of the entertainment section of yesterday’s Google I/O Developer Conference in San Francisco, with a 42-minute set that spanned and sampled the band’s entire catalogue.
The musical portion of the private event was made available as a free stream. If you missed it, never fear: Google’s posted the entire set, captured via multiple cameras. Check it out below:
Earlier this year Jane’s Addiction announced that Dave Sitek – who has done production work with TV On The Radio, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Foals – is writing, programming and playing bass on the band’s new album. Interestingly, he didn’t play last night, replaced by semi-regular touring bassist Chris Chaney.
Jane’s fourth studio album, The Great Escape Artist, is set for release in August on Capitol Records. The Great Escape Artist’s first single, End To The Lies, can be purchased now through iTunes and listened to here.

I’m guessing the tech-geeks with their cellphones and cameras didn’t realize Google was filming?? Snap a few photos and start enjoying the damn show!!
It will never end. You could tell these plankton that they’ll be handed a flash drive with the entire show in multi-cam pro-shot video and soundboard audio on their way out the door and this shit would still go on.
After watching the show I hope those holding up their eTablets were only doing that since they were at a tech convention… I don’t think I could deal with that at a show, and I’m pretty easy going…
It would have been funny if JA would have slipped Whores into their setlist poking a little fun at themselves.
