News: Smashing Pumpkins
Billy Corgan Mines The Past, Announces ‘Oceania’
Billy Corgan spent the better part of the last week hyping up some big Smashing Pumpkins-related news. He finally revealed yesterday that, throughout the next few years, EMI Music will be reissuing remastered versions of the band’s 1991-2000 material.
2011 will see the re-release of Gish, Siamese Dream and Pisces Iscariot. In 2012 fans will get Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, the five-disc Aeroplane Flies High set and Adore.
In 2013, Machina/The Machines of God and Machine II: The Friends & Enemies of Modern will be put together in one package, with Corgan saying it will be put into a proper sequence, something he feels the original two releases didn’t have.
All of these re-releases will feature unreleased material, and Corgan is hoping to get everything re-pressed on high-quality vinyl.
In addition to the news about remasters, Corgan & Friends are also hitting the studio to record an “album within an album,” as part of the Teargarden by Kaleidyscope. Set to be released in September, Oceania, will include 10 or so new songs from the Teargarden project.
Corgan posted the following video on Facebook early this morning, detailing all of the above news and some other information about the deal he’s worked out with EMI.
All in all, it’s pretty news for both old and new fans of the group. Teargarden has been pretty underwhelming so far, but perhaps proper remasters and some old unreleased tracks can help cleanse the palates of fans who don’t like the current iteration of the band.

The unreleased material could be interesting, but the really good news is the potential to finally get the back catalogue on vinyl!
Uhhhhh……
another cash driven re-release….
I as well as my buddies have been studying the nice hints located on the website and then at once got a terrible feeling I had not expressed respect to the web blog owner for those secrets. The women had been for this reason passionate to read through them and have clearly been loving them. We appreciate you actually being indeed accommodating as well as for settling on certain fabulous tips most people are really desperate to know about. My honest apologies for not saying thanks to you earlier.
