News: Eddie Vedder
New From Eddie Vedder: ‘Without You’ And ‘Tonight You Belong To Me’
News and sounds have been trickling out regarding Eddie Vedder‘s upcoming solo album Ukelele Songs, to the great excitement of Pearl Jam fans eager for any fresh material. Today we’ve got a few treats for you, by way of recent performances on Vedder’s current Australia tour. How about three new songs?
The first track, a cover of an old classic called Tonight You Belong To Me, was debuted at the March 25 show, the second night of Vedder’s stay at the Palais Theatre in Melbourne. While the studio version (which we’ve yet to hear) features Cat Power, this rendition is guested by EJ Barnes, who PJ fans will remember accompanying Vedder’s 2008 solo tour with the inimitably spectacular Liam Finn (son of Neil).
Check out the Tonight You Belong To Me cover, which Vedder says is a love song that’s “almost kind of naughty… in a 1929 kind of way”:
A week prior, Vedder gifted Sydney with another new song, a gorgeously delicate little jam off Ukelele Songs called Without You. Have a listen to that gem here:
The night before, on March 18, Vedder introduced fans to another new song: Sleeping By Myself. Give it a listen below.
While we’re in the musical-beauty mood, wrap your ears around another beautiful track from the same show – a cover of James Taylor’s lovely You Can Close Your Eyes:
Ukulele Songs will drop on May 31st through Pearl Jam’s Monkeywrench Records, a collection of original songs and covers performed by Vedder on ukulele.
Additionally, details have emerged for Vedder’s live concert film Water on the Road, which will be released on the same day as Ukelele Songs. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg for Pearl Jam fans, who are neck-deep in nostalgia, new album plans and Summer festival mysteries at the moment.

I thought 10C was policing all this solo Ed bootleg stuff pretty strictly… Nice to see some of it surface.
