News: Thom Yorke
Thom Yorke And MF DOOM Collaborating On New Album
Thom Yorke has been quite busy since the release of Radiohead’s captivating new album, The King of Limbs.
Earlier this month, Yorke played a surprise 90-minute DJ set in Los Angeles alongside dubstep darling Flying Lotus. He then went on to record a collaborative 12” single with fellow electronica masterminds, Four Tet and Burial. And now, in an interview with 3D World magazine, hip-hop guru MF DOOM has revealed that Yorke is teaming up with him for a potential full-length record.
Speaking in a way only a rapper can, DOOM announced that he’s “doing some stuff with Thom Yorke… working on some duets, some duet songs and shit. Just like preliminary shit but we’ll probably end up doing a whole record together… he’s cool – he got a lot of ill ass ideas and shit, you know.”
We know.
Thom Yorke is also an admitted DOOM fan, having even remixed his song, Gazzillion Ear, on the rapper’s 2009 album, Born Like This. Add that to the fact that Yorke is constantly seeking to reinvent himself by exploring new sounds and experimenting with different genres, this is surely a project we can look forward to.
While DOOM and Yorke’s “ill ass ideas and shit” may not surface anytime soon, Yorke’s collaboration with Four Tet and Burial is already making rounds online. You can listen to the two new songs below:
