The Strokes Debut Hammond-Directed Video For ‘Call Me Back’
The new album from The Strokes was a surprisingly fascinating listening experience, so I suppose there’s no point in pretending it doesn’t exist any longer. And in that case – hey, new video!
Guitarist Albert Hammond Jr., put together a video for for The Strokes’ new single from Angles, called Call Me Back. Have a look:
The vid is a pretty low-key affair overall, slow motion water droplets and a pretty girl behind a waterfall comprising the entirety of the visual experience behind the Girl-From-Ipanema-on-acid jam. Could a better job be done by a midwestern farmer’s kid with an old version of iMovie who watched a commercial for art school? Yes, absolutely, but that’s besides the point. The point here is that DIY is where it’s at! Who needs a quality, compelling video when you can have your guitarist put together a water-droplet video collage with sparking lighters behind it? Not The Strokes.
Pick up The Strokes’ new album Angles at the band’s official site.

This was a rad video by the way.
That’s the new single? Time for some new management…I’m looking at you Ryan….dick.
That song is interesting. The video fucked with me eyes though.
