News:  Radiohead

Read Radiohead’s Free Newspaper, Stream ‘King Of Limbs’

By Johnny Firecloud

Radiohead’s eighth album The King Of Limbs is finally seeing a proper physical release this week, after a digital blitz last month that left fans’ heads spinning.

CD and vinyl versions of the album will be available in the States on Tuesday, and to remind you of just how fascinating The King Of Limbs is beforehand, management kindly let us stream the entire thing for your listening pleasure below:

Don’t forget to check out our review as well, where we examine the isolationism and indulgent divergence that makes Radiohead the musical anomaly they are today – to both positive and negative effect.

To kick up interest in the physical release of The King Of Limbs, Radiohead is distributing a free newspaper called The Universal Sigh around the world. Beginning overseas today and extending to select U.S. cities tomorrow, the free paper will be handed out at select record stores while supplies last.

A PDF version of the newspaper is now available online (download here) via New Zealand music site Ripitup.co.nz. The newspaper consists of short stories and pictures centered around the forest, with artist and longtime Radiohead collaborator Stanley Donwood lending recognizable contributions.

“If you think this is over, then you’re wrong,” Yorke taunts as the album concludes, leading many to believe that the free paper would include new material, or at least greater hints of Radiohead sounds we’ve yet to get our ears around. That doesn’t appear to be the case just yet, but we’ll keep you posted if someone deciphers the collage of tree pictures and disjointed lyrics to mean something more.
