Watch A Free David Bowie Documentary From 1975

By Morad Moazami

It’s been 8 years since our last taste of new David Bowie material, and so nowadays anything that contains Bowie’s name is certain to generate some excitement. Earlier today, a David Bowie documentary from 1975 was unearthed on Vimeo. Titled Cracked Actor, the BBC-produced documentary delves into Bowie’s cocaine-addicted state of disarray in 1974, and includes a great deal of rare footage from Bowie’s Diamond Dogs tour from the very same year.

Throughout the documentary, a very distressed Bowie discuses plenty of topics such as losing himself in the characters of Aladdin Sane, the schizophrenic creation of Ziggy Stardust, and his unease about becoming a rock ‘n roll star. The series of interviews take place in various hotel rooms and limos, portraying a tremendously candid Bowie opening up about his life, music, and inspirations.

The documentary is only 50 minutes long, and definitely worth watching.
