News:  The Black Keys

The Black Keys Get Deadly In ‘Howlin For You’ Video

By Johnny Firecloud

This isn’t exactly a music video so much as a theatrical musical accompaniment, but if it kicks ass, why split hairs? The Black Keys are the musical accompaniment and sonic centerpiece to a great little video short, directed and written by writer/director Chris Marrs Piliero.

The cast for the Howlin’ For You video is a bizarre one, with appearances from snowboard legend Shaun White, Tricia Helfer (of Battlestar Galactica), Sean Patrick Flanery, Corbin Bernsen, Diora Baird, Christian Serratos  and, yes, Willis himself, Todd motherfucking Bridges. Our beloved Keys, Patrick Carney and Dan Auerbach, also make mustachioed cameos.

IMDb had the following to say about the clip:

“Alexa Wolff, a sexy assassin with a troubled past, unknowingly falls in love with the man who killed her father. He is not her first love, though. Two other men came before. But they would not have her. Now, all grown up with an appetite for revenge, Alexa’s leaving a trail of bloody corpses and broken hearts in her wake.”

Read our review of Brothers, and watch for them at the Grammys this Sunday, where they’re nominated for Best Alternative Music Album, Best Rock Song, Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group and Best Rock Instrumental Performance.

  2. Patrick Antonacci says:

    what happened to the video?

  3. It’s “Las Teclas Negras” FFS. “Teclas de Negro” is like “black people’s keys”.

Better than the 3s & 7s vid, anyway.

  4. Some Guy Named Mark says:

    With a cameo by Frank.

  5. Goddamn that was good.
