News: Ryan Adams
Ryan Adams Celebrates Ninjas, Cigarettes, Sex And Pizza On New Album
While Ryan Adams supposedly retired from music in early 2009 as a result of Ménière’s disease, the singer/songwriter and avid Danzig fan is set to return with a new double disc on December 14th. Cardinals III/IV consists of tracks that were originally recorded in 2007, only to be shelved for the mellow Easy Tiger. Adams has proclaimed that the Cardinals’ second double album is a “concept rock opera about the 80s, ninjas, cigarettes, sex, and pizza.”
Judging by the samples recently posted on Amazon.com, fans looking for a sequal to the Cardinals’ first double disc 2005’s Cold Roses are in for a shock. Gone are the lush Grateful Dead-esque jams and in their place are fierce three-minute songs that feel like the Cardinals, yet contain the punk-rock sensibility of Adams’ 2003 release Rock N’ Roll.
According to his Facebook page, Adams also has a second new record completed. There is no information as to when Blackhole will see the light of day, however, you can pre-order Cardinals III/IV via itunes on November 23rd.
…and we were dead serious about the Danzig thing.

And wearing a Slayer shirt to boot. Fucking cool.
