News: Queens Of The Stone Age
Listen To Queens Of The Stone Age Cover Tom Waits
This one’s an oldie but a goodie. Last night Queens Of The Stone Age frontman Josh Homme posted his band’s mean little cover of Tom Waits’ Goin Out West, a strut-rock jam that, as Homme puts it, “feels good on a chilly November night.” Or a cold & rainy Saturday morning. Either way seems to work just fine – any excuse to post off-the-beaten-path Queens tracks is a good excuse to us.
While only Queens aficionados and Waits maniacs are generally familiar with the track, it was released three years ago as part of an EP package for Sick, Sick, Sick, the first single from the band’s most recent Rock juggernaut Era Vulgaris. The extended single includes takes on Elliott Smith’s Christian Brothers and Wait’s Bone Machine classic, as well as a remixed version of I’m Designer. Pick it up here.
Mindblowing to think that a new Queens of the Stone Age record hasn’t been released during the three and a half years Antiquiet’s been alive and kicking. We’re very much looking forward to that changing next year.

Being a QOTSA mega addict and a Waits vulture, this track is sick, and officially the best Tom Waits cover ever (sorry Rod Stewart).
I have listened to this song almost every day since it came out. It never leaves my playlist.
Great cover… The original waits song was used excellently in Fight Club… in the bar scene, no?
Waits and QOTSA… the Universe smiles, my brothers and sisters.
