News: OK Go
Ok Go Get Creative With Animated Toast in New Video
We have already established that OK Go are “that band” with the awesome/crazy music videos that manage to get a mention every time they make a new one, regardless of the accompanying music. Yes, the music is pretty good, but if it weren’t for the amazing visuals, we’re not sure whether or not the band would get as much buzz as they currently do. Anyway, they’re at it again, with a very unusual type of stop-motion video for Last Leaf. Watch it below:
With any other group, we’d quickly jump to the assumption that this combination of stop-motion and animation could be easily faked with digital trickery. But, since it’s OK Go we’re talking about, and the video is sponsored by a camera company, it’s easier to assume that they really did take the effort of burning that inordinate amount of bread – one for every single frame of the video, each one with a unique stamp (not to mention the frames with multiple toast pieces).
Of course, given how long the video is, one has to wonder what the hell they did with that ridiculously enormous amount of toast once the shooting was over – and what impact the budget would have if they were to cover it all with jelly (or Pearl Jam – Ed).

I would tend to agree with the individually-burned-pieces theory except that the animation appears superimposed over the toast image(s) rather than burned into or onto each one. Also, the color seems wrong somehow. Could be digital trickery. I dunno, maybe it’s just me. The concept is cool though. The song is……meh
