Gorillaz Cover XX, Get Quietly Gorgeous On BBC Radio 1
A few Gorillaz swung through to BBC Radio 1 this morning for a Live Lounge Session with Jo Whiley. Damon Albarn and a skeleton crew of bandmates made their way through their newest single Doncamatic (All Played Out), bringing along pop singer Daley for the ride. They also performed a beautifully kickass little cover of The XX’s Crystalised and a stripped, hauntingly gorgeous version of Melancholy Hill which didn’t air during the radio broadcast.

This is fantastic. Doncamatic and On Melancholy Hill are chilling like this.. I’d love to hear an entire “stripped” version of Plastic Beach.
I thought I hated Doncamatic at first…it is growing on me now.
Going to see them next week in Antwerp. Let’s hope they include one of these versions in their setlist :)
